SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. --- The UC Irvine men's golf team is tied for eighth place following the first two rounds of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at Talking Stick Golf Club (North Course) in Scottsdale.
UCI, Kansas State and UC Santa Barbara are in a three-way tie for eighth with 36-hole totals of 573. Oklahoma leads the 21-team tournament at 560 while BYU and Colorado are tied for second at 561.
Sean Walsh of Gonzaga is the individual leader at 7-under 133 (68-65) after Monday's two rounds.
Anteater junior Pete Fernandez is tied for third place at 4-under 136 following rounds of 67 and 69.
Ryan O'Connor is 27th at 143 (72-71), Bhuvan Potluri is in 42nd place at 145 (75-70), Ryan Knapp is 71st at 149 (73-76) and Jacob Schulze is 113th at 164 (77-87).
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday.
