UC Irvine Holds Steady In Third Place At Big West Championships

San Luis Obispo, Calif. – UC Irvine remained in third place after the second round of the Big West Championships held at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.

The Anteaters shot a second round of 306 and remained in third place with a 36-hole total of 611 (305-306). UC Davis continues to lead the tournament with a score of 591. Cal State Northridge shot a 296 Monday, the low round of the day and moved in to second place (603) with an eight stroke advantage over UC Irvine.   

Freshman Kaley In is in seventh place after carding a two-day total of 150 (74-76). Senior Ronnie Valerio recorded five birdies and posted a one-under par 72 and moved up to 12th position with a score of 152 (80-72). Senior Sara Banke is 14th at 153 (77-76), senior Taryn Yee is tied for 19th at 156 (74-82) and freshman Samantha Chan is tied for 36th with a score of 167 (81-86).

The tournament will conclude tomorrow with 18 holes.  The Anteaters will join UC Davis and Cal State Northridge in the final pairings which begin teeing off at 9:00 a.m.
