NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. --- UC Irvine snuffed out Army dropping it to 7-3 on the year with a 6-1 win Saturday afternoon at Newport Beach Tennis Club.
The 'Eaters (8-9, 0-1) scored the doubles point after an 8-6 clinch via Justin Agbayani and Caryl Hernandez.
UCI scored five straight-set wins in singles for the 6-1 victory. Jonathan Hammel was the only casualty falling in three sets to Grant Reichmann.
UCI's win is its sixth straight, and it can push it to a seventh and an even .500 record with its final of fives matches Sunday as the 'Eaters take on Penn at 10:00 a.m.
