SOMIS, Calif. --- The UC Irvine men's golf team finished ninth in the Jones Invitational that concluded Tuesday at Saticoy Country Club in Somis.
UCI had a 54-hole total of 931 as San Diego State was team champion at 881. USC placed second at 882 and San Diego was third at 888.
USC's Anthony Paolucci was medalist with a three-round score of even-par 216.
Sophomore Jacob Schulze led the 'Eaters with a 36th-place finish of 233 after an 80 in the final round. Freshman Ryan O'Connor placed 40th at 234 after a 77 Tuesday and senior Allan Jun, who also shot 77 in the last round, was 45th at 235.
Junior Pete Fernandez (76) finished 48th at 236 and senior Travis Russell (84) was 59th at 244.
UCI returns to action March 10-11 in the San Diego Intercollegiate Classic at the San Diego Country Club.
