LONG BEACH, Calif. --- UC Irvine fell behind early and never recovered in losing to UC Santa Barbara, 10-5, in the seventh-place game of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament at Long Beach State Sunday.

The ninth-seeded Gauchos (11-15) led 5-2 after one quarter and outscored the 'Eaters 3-0 in the second period to build an 8-2 halftime lead.

Kyle Trush led sixth-seeded UCI with a pair of first-quarter goals.  Jacob Mourer, Matt Skinner and Justin Papa added one each.

The 'Eaters end the 2014 season with an overall record of 15-14.

Lovre Milos led UCI with 92 goals this season, Skinner had 49, Trush 37 and Mourer 35.
