LONG BEACH, Calif. --- UC Irvine saw a three-goal lead in the fourth quarter dissipate as Pepperdine rallied to defeat the Anteaters, 12-11, in overtime in a consolation semifinal of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament at Long Beach State Saturday.

Sixth-seeded UCI led 9-6 after three quarters and went up by three again at 10-7 on a goal by Matt Skinner with 4:43 left in regulation before the No. 7 seed Waves outscored the 'Eaters 4-1 down the stretch.

Consecutive goals by Luke Hewko (4:19), Wesley Sherburne (3:22) and Hewko again (2:25) tied the game at 10-10.

Ryan Warde's goal with 1:36 remaining in the fourth put UCI up 11-10, but Jake Schrimpf scored a power-play goal with 43 seconds left to tie the game and send it to overtime.

Pepperdine's Charles Olsen scored the lone goal in the first three-minute overtime period and neither team scored in the second three-minute extra session.

Lovre Milos scored a game-high four goals for UCI (15-13) and Skinner added three.

Hewko, Sherburne and Kenneth Keller scored three goals apiece for Pepperdine (11-14).

UCI faces UC Santa Barbara in the seventh-place game Sunday morning at 10:00.
