IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine women's tennis has another full slate for the 2014-15 season dotted with home matches and highlighted road trips.

The 'Eaters have already tackled one fall tournament with a favorable showing from its new faces at the LBSU Fall Tournament at the campus of Long Beach State. The fall schedule continues with tournaments in San Diego, Northridge, and Palos Verdes over each of the next four weekends.

The regular season kicks off with a home tilt against UC San Diego before heading out to the ITA Kick-Off Weekend Jan. 23-25. The kick-off will feature Kansas State and Marshall converging on Los Angeles with host UCLA.

UCI returns for four straight home matches with three high-quality California squads in LMU, San Diego State, and San Francisco before finishing with the Big West conference opener against UC Davis.

The 'Eaters take a quick trip to Hawaii with a tune-up against Hawaii Pacific before another conference challenge with the Rainbow Wahine before coming back home for seven more matches at Anteater Stadium.

A pair of critical Big West matches against Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State await UCI in March. Five non-conference meetings with the likes of out-of-state visitors such as Eastern Michigan and Gonzaga, and NCAA Tournament participants from 2014 in Denver and Sacramento State surround those

The stretch run comes with four Big West matches; three on the road at Cal Poly, UCSB, and CSUN, and the regular season finale at home vs. UC Riverside. The Anteaters also throw in NCAA Tournament participant Fresno State in the midst of Big West play in Anteater Stadium for good measure.

The 2014 Anteaters finished with a 17-7 record and wins in nine of 11 Big West matches slipping to Long Beach State on the road and then once again in the Big West Tournament final.

The schedule features a potential matchup with the defending champs in UCLA. Some notable ranked opponents are the 40th-ranked 49ers of Long Beach State as well as No. 67 Denver, No. 68 Kansas State, and No. 71 Fresno State. The Anteaters completed 2014 with a No. 70 ranking.

Four individuals on the agenda also populate the rankings. A pair comes from San Francisco in No. 92 Andrea Ka and No. 110 Thyra Thune. Fresno State sports the highest-ranked player on the slate in No. 53 Sophie Watts along with the No. 52-ranked doubles pair. No. 96 Cindy Nguyen is the only conference player that appears on the rankings from Hawai'i.

The 'Eaters graduated a solid crop of student-athletes in Marivick Mamiit, Franziska Goettsching, and Brooke Schweyer. Four starting singles return to the fold in potential No. 1, Sarah Gong, the consistent sister act of Ali and Kat Facey, and third-year Sarah Stadfelt who has scored 30 dual-match wins and gone 13-2 in Big West play since joining the team.

Along with the usual suspects, six newcomers will look to come in and prove their mettle and make an immediate impact. Vivian Dvali and Arisha Ladhani have a good chance of earning some early play after making some waves in Flight 1 of their opening tournament in singles and doubles. Andrea Duva, a redshirt-holdover from 2014, will also challenge for play time along with more newcomers in Jennifer Andra, Gala Strong, Cassidy Branstine, and Alex Harrigan.
