IRVINE, Calif. --- UCI women's tennis fell at the hands of fifth-ranked UCLA Thursday afternoon, 7-0, at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.

Anteater doubles were dispatched early on with Kat Facey and Brooke Schweyer putting up a fight at 5-3 before their match was ended early.

In singles, Franziska Goettsching took No. 9 Chanelle Van Nguyen to a third set before falling while the other five positions were upended in straight sets.

UCI (1-2) comes home for its opener on Saturday, Feb. 1 hosting No. 48 Pepperdine at 12:00 p.m.
