Irvine, Calif.--- UC Irvine women's soccer player Natalia Ledezma has been named this week's Anteater of the Week. 

Natalia Ledezma put in the game winner to defeat No. 6 BYU with only 31 seconds left on the clock over the weekend.  The senior from La Mirada, Calif. helped the 'Eaters defeat their highest ranked opponent in history.  Currently, Ledezma leads the team in goals, shots, shots on goal, points and game winning goals. Having already matched her goal total from all of last season (3) the attacking forward is off to a great start for the 2013 season.  Ledezma fought through an elbow to the face early in the contest, which caused a cut to open up, sidelining her for only a few minutes.  At the end of a hard fought game Ledezma found the back of the net, securing the UCI victory and bringing them back to a winning record (4-3-0).  The monumental win was only the second time in two years that the Cougars have been defeated. 

This Friday the 'Eaters will travel to LMU before hosting Washington State at home on Sunday (2pm).
