IRVINE, Calif. --- Natalia Ledezma took the offensive reins on Sunday scoring twice for UCI's first win of the season, 2-0, over UNLV at Anteater Stadium.

Ledezma was fed from a brilliant pass by Zoya Farzaneh at about midfield putting her through and flicking a shot over the oncoming keeper that bounded in for the early lead in the 20^th minute.

UCI (1-1-0) would scorch back just one minute later with another goal as Cami Privett drove down the right side and laced a sharp cross into the box that Ledezma put a head on and finish to quickly gain the 2-0 lead in a matter of minutes.

UNLV's offense did not break through until late managing just one shot in the first 65 minutes.

UCI continued to attack as Ledezma had four shots on the day, all on goal, as well as a stellar feed to Laura McGrail whose diving header skipped just wide in the second half.

Zoya Farzaneh provided the final chance in the 88^th minute as her header was stopped by a diving Kylie Wassell of UNLV (1-1-0).

Corey Tobin earned the start in net and stopped both shots she saw for the shutout. Miranda Rawlings had the best chance for UNLV in the last minute, but her strike sailed just high.

UCI gets in the win column in its second match of the season, and next will venture down the road to San Diego to play USD Fri. Aug. 30 in a 7:00 p.m. before returning home on Sunday.
