Box Score FRESNO, Calif. --- The Anteaters readied themselves for the season opener just one week away with a promising 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs at Fresno State Friday evening.
Victoria Russo knocked in her first Anteater goal in the 27th minute with some assistance from Jasmine Nickelberry. Russo validated the 'Eaters early outburst after they took four shots in the first 15 minutes. Russo's goal was the only other shot for the remainder of the half.
Cami Privett showed her formed early in the second half with a pair of shots including one off the crossbar in the 65th minute. Natalia Ledezma got in on the act as well with a second shot on goal.
But it was Zoya Farzaneh who buried the second goal in the 67th minute for the 'Eaters and complete the scoring.
Jenn Randazzo stood tall once again with her second exhibition shutout while making three saves.
Head Coach Scott Juniper made sure to get the entire roster involved getting a flurry of newcomers into the action which included starts from freshman Tatyana Garrett and redshirt freshman Kelsey Texeira.
UCI will hit the ground running for real next Friday Aug. 23 with a visit from 20th-ranked Cal at Anteater Stadium for a 7:00 p.m. match.
