IRVINE, Calif. --- The Anteaters built up a good lead en route to an 8-5 victory over the UC Davis Friday afternoon at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
Hillary Estrada scored three times for UCI (20-8, 6-1) and Cambria Shockley added a pair.
Jillian Yocum stopped 12 shots for UCI as the 'Eaters jumped out to a 6-2 lead at the half and 8-3 after three periods.
UC Davis (14-6, 1-6) scored a pair late to close the gap to 8-5, but time was against the Aggies who fell by that score.
Shockley played a big part on defense with three steals, while Kelsey Klatt assisted on three goals in the win.
UCI is back in the pool Saturday, April 27th at 5:15 p.m. as it awaits the winner of SDSU and UCSB for a chance to play in the Big West Final.
