Fresno, Calif. -- UC Irvine freshman Luciane Lee has a share of the tournament lead after the first two rounds of the Fresno State Lexus Classic held at the Copper River County Club.
Lee, who shares the top spot with Long Beach State senior Simone Hoey, carded a three-under par 141 (70-71) over 36 holes. Her score of 70 on the first round was the lowest recorded on the first 18 holes.
As a team, UCI is in third place with a two round total of 601 (300-301), seven shots behind leader Tulsa (594) and four back of second place Long Beach State (597). Oregon State and San Jose State are tied for fourth (605).
Senior Michelle Park is in ninth place with a score of 148 (75-73), while junior Sara Banke is tied for 36th at 154 (78-76) and sophomore Brenna Carlson is tied for 53rd with a score of 158 (78-80). Junior Ronnie Valerio is tied for 70th at 162 (80-82).
The tournament concludes with 18 holes tomorrow.
