CROGHAN NAMED ESPN ZONE ANAHEIM ANTEATER OF THE WEEK

Irvine, Calif. -- UC Irvine women's water polo player Hannah Croghan has been named this week's ESPN Zone Anaheim Anteater of the Week.

The junior, attacker from Yorba Linda had an outstanding performance over the weekend against the University of Pacific. She led the way for UCI with six goals becoming just the fifth Anteater to reach that mark in a game. She helped the seventh-ranked Anteaters get out to a quick start with four of its five goals in the first period. Croghan joined teammate Kelsey Klatt as the only player with four goals in a period this season as UC Irvine defeated Pacific 8-5. Against UC Davis Croghan helped add another goal in UCI's last second 7-6 victory over the Aggies.

UCI improved to 3-1 in Big West play as they return home for four of its last five matches this season beginning with the top-ranked and undefeated USC Trojans. The Trojans visit on Saturday, April 6th for a 1:00 p.m. match followed by the 13th-ranked CSUN Matadors on Sunday, April 7th at 12:00 p.m.
