LOS ANGELES --- Riley Martin had the top finish for UC Irvine at Friday night's Oxy Distance Carnival.
Martin placed third in the 1500 meters with a time of 3:46.93 and Sam Hyams was fifth in 3:49.34 in the 144-runner competition.
Brandon Vientos was 13th in 3:55.07, Tommy Newton-Neal 16th in 3:55.60 and Andrew Snyder 19th in 3:57.26 for other top-20 showings by the 'Eaters.
In the 800 meters, Amir Shirif finished 12th of 87 runners with a time of 1:55.28 and Conor Stanton was 32nd in 1:59.70.
