LA JOLLA, Calif. --- No. 6 UC Irvine rolled in its first match of the UCSD Triton Invite defeating the Seawolves of Sonoma State, 15-2, Saturday morning.
The 'Eaters commanded the opening half outscoring the Seawolves 6-0 led by a pair of goals each from McKenna Mitchell and Hannah Croghan.
Mitchell scored to close out the third period, and each of them would add another as part of a six-goal fourth period to give UCI (5-2) its highest goal output of the season thus far.
The 'Eaters continue play in the Triton Invite with a 5:20 p.m. match against the winner of the UCSB-CSUB match.
