WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. --- The UC Irvine men's golf team is in 10th place after Monday's first two rounds of the North Ranch Intercollegiate at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.
The Anteaters shot a 36-hole total of 599 Monday. USC leads the field at 564 while host Pepperdine and BYU are tied for second at 574.
USC's Sam Smith is the individual leader at 6-under 136 (65-71) on the par-71 course.
UCI sophomore Pete Fernandez is in 16th place at 146 (73-73), junior Allan Jun is 33rd at 150 (74-76) and senior Michael Yang is 36th at 151 (72-79).
Junior Travis Russell is in 41st at 152 (77-75) and freshman Jacob Schulze is 58th at 158 (77-81).
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday.
