LOS CABOS, Mexico --- UC Irvine is in second place following Sunday's first round of the Cabo del Sol Intercollegiate at the Cabo del Sol Golf Club.

The 'Eaters shot 300 Sunday to trail just San Francisco, which shot 295.  Bowling Green is third at 302.

UCI's Travis Russell and Pete Fernandez are tied for third place after each shot a 73 in the opening round. 

Jobim Carlos of San Francisco is the individual leader after a 68.

Anteater senior Allan Jun is fifth at 74, Jacob Schulze is in 43rd after an 80 and Ryan O'Connor shot an 84 for 55th place.

The tournament continues with 18 holes each on Monday and Tuesday.
