SIMI VALLEY, Calif. --- UC Irvine tied for seventh place in the Bill Cullum Invitational that concluded Tuesday at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley.
The 'Eaters and Long Beach State finished with 54-hole totals of 875 as Cal State Fullerton won the 20-team tournament with a score of 849. San Diego was second at 850 and Arizona State third with 853.
Junior Pete Fernandez led UCI with a 19th-place finish of 216 after carding his third consecutive par-72 in the final round.
UCI senior Allan Jun finished 23rd at 217 following a 74 in the final round, senior Travis Russell (74) was 43rd at 221, sophomore Jacob Schulze (75) 48th at 222 and senior Ryan Knapp (78) was 69th at 229.
Freshman Ryan O'Connor, competing as an individual, shot 79 in the afternoon round and finished 81st at 232.
Daniel Chian of Long Beach State was medalist at 206 after a 66 on Tuesday afternoon.
This marked the final tournament of the fall for the 'Eaters, who host the 34th annual Anteater Invitational Jan. 27-28 at Mesa Verde Country Club in Costa Mesa.
