Irvine, Calif.--- UC Irvine men's golfer Pete Fernandez has been named this week's Anteater of the Week. 

Fernandez turned in a great performance at the Cabo del Sol Intercollegiate, leading the UCI men's golf team to a first place finish.  His 54-hole total of 218 led the 'Eaters to their first tournament win since the 2010 Big West Championship.  The junior shot a 72 on the final day to place third, the highest finish of his career. 

The Anteaters will play in one final tournament for the fall, the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley set for Oct. 21-22.
