SEASIDE, Calif. --- UC Irvine is in eighth place after Monday's first two rounds of the season-opening Saint Mary's Invitational at the Bayonet and Black Horse Golf Courses in Seaside.
The 'Eaters have a 36-hole total of 600 entering Tuesday's final round. The host Gaels are in first at 575, Fresno State is second at 577 and Oregon is third at 583 in the 15-team tournament.
Ryan Williams of Sacramento State and Jonathan De Los Reye from Saint Mary's are tied for the individual lead at 4-under 140 after identical rounds of 72-68.
Michael Yang was UCI's top golfer Monday as he sits in 13th place at 1-over 145 (74-71).
Travis Russell is 27th at 149 (72-77), Ryan Knapp is 38th at 151 (79-72), Jacob Schulze is 64th at 156 (77-79) and Pete Fernandez is 68th at 157 (78-79).
