UC Irvine Finishes Second At Big West Championships; Yang Places Third Individually

San Luis Obispo, Calif. -- Redshirt freshman Michelle Yang finished in third place at the Big West Championships helping the Anteaters to a second place finish at the San Luis Obispo Country Club Tuesday.

Yang shot a one-under par 71 in the final round to finish in third place with a score of 224 (74-79-71), her best finish of the season. Sophomore Ronnie Valerio was tied for eighth after carding a 229 (77-71-81), while junior Michelle Park was tied for 13th with a score of 231 (73-77-81). Senior Lalita Patipaksiri was tied for 16th at 233 (82-75-76) and sophomore Sara Banke was tied for 29th with a three-day total of 238 (76-79-83).

The Anteaters shot a 54-hole score of 911 (300-302-309) to finish in second place behind champion UC Davis (898). UC Davis' Bev Vatananugulkit won the individual title with a score of 220 (75-72-73).
