San Luis Obispo, Calif. – The UC Irvine women's golf team shot a 302 on the second round of the Big West Championships and are in second place heading into the last day at the San Luis Obispo Country Club..
The Anteaters have a two day total of 602 (300-302) and trail UC Davis (600) by two shots. The Anteaters lead Long Beach State (611) who is in third place by nine strokes. Both UCI and UC Davis have four players in the top 12 individually..
UCI was led by sophomore Ronnie Valerio who posted a one-under par 71 Tuesday and moved into a tie for second with a 36-hole total of 148 (77-71). Junior Michelle Park is tied for fifth with a score of 150 (73-77), while redshirt freshman Michelle Yang is tied for 12th at 153 (74-79) and sophomore Sara Banke is tied for 12th with a two-day total of 155 (76-79). Senior Lalita Patipaksiri is tied for 22nd with a score of 157 (82-75).
The final round begins with Patipaksiri teeing off at 8:50 a.m.
