Half Moon Bay, Calif. – The UC Irvine women's golf team shot a 287 on the final round of the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate held at The Ocean Course at Half Moon Bay Golf Links and moved up one spot to finish in 14th place on Tuesday.
The Anteaters' final round of 287 was the second lowest score UCI has posted this season. UCI finished with a 54-hole score of 901 (306-308-287). UCLA lead from start to finish and captured the tournament title with 15-under par 849 (280-283-286). UCLA's Erynne Kim earned medalist honors with a score of 207 (68-68-71).
UCI redshirt freshman Michelle Yang posted a career-best 69 on the final round and finished tied for 36th with a score of 222 (76-77-69). Yang's 69 matches Brenna Carlson and Sarah Beak's career best for the lowest round by an Anteater this season. Junior Michelle Park shot even-par 72 Tuesday and ended in a tie for 49th with a score of 225. Sophomore Ronnie Valerio was tied for 59th at 229 (78-74-77), while senior Lalita Patipaksiri was tied for 65th with a three-round total of 230 (76-80-74). Junior Sara Banke also recorded a final round of even par and finished in a tie for 68th with a score of 231 (78-81-72).
UCI will compete at the Big West Championships Sunday through Tuesday (Apr. 22-24) at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
