Irvine, Calif. -- UC Irvine women's water polo player Danielle Warde has been named this week's ESPN Zone Anaheim Anteater of the Week.

The sophomore utility player from Huntington Beach netted four goals against Pacific and one against Davis this past weekend to help UCI to a 14-2 win and 10-4 win, respectively. With the two victories, the Anteaters clinched at least a share of the Big West regular season title for the second time in a row, and the third time in the last fours years. Over the weekend, Warde led the team in scoring and racked up nine steals, giving her a total of 33 goals and 60 steals for the season. Her 60 steals are already 11 more than the team high in 2011. The Eaters are currently on a nine game winning streak, with Warde contributing goals in all nine.

No.6 UC Irvine will face No.1 UCLA in a home match this Saturday (Apr. 14) at 1:00 p.m. The Anteaters will then face Long Beach State on Apr. 19 at 7:00 p.m. for their last home match.
