SAN JOSE, Calif. --- The UC Irvine women's golf team, led by senior Lalita Patipaksiri's top-three finish, placed fifth in the Juli Inkster Invitational that concluded Tuesday at Almaden Golf & Country Club in San Jose.
The Anteaters had a 54-hole total of 909 as California won the 12-team tournament with a score of 879. Oregon was second at 892, UC Davis third at 901 and Washington fourth at 907.
Patipaksiri finished third, shooting an even-par 72 Tuesday to card a three-round total of 216. Joanne Lee from California was medalist at 214 and Daniela Holmqvist, also from Cal, was runner-up at 215.
UCI's Ronnie Valerio, who shot 75 in the final round, and Michelle Yang (80) tied for 22nd place at 231. Michelle Park (78) finished 32nd at 236 and Brenna Carlson (87) was 45th at 242.
UCI hosts the Anteater Invitational Mar. 26-27 at Dove Canyon Country Club.
