FRESNO, Calif. --- UC Irvine's Michael Yang fired a 7-under 65 in Monday's second round and is the individual leader at 9-under 135 after 36 holes at the Fresno State Lexus Classic.
Yang recorded eight birdies during his round. Anteater teammate Allan Jun is in second place at 5-under 139 after carding a 4-under 68 in the second round at Fort Washington Country Club in Fresno. Jun had a hole-in-one on the 145-yard, par-3 17th with a 9-iron in his second round.
UCI is tied for second with Sacramento State at 715 after two rounds as Oregon State leads the 16-team tournament at 707.
Pete Fernandez of the Anteaters is in 10th place at 141 (69-72), Ryan Knapp (75-75) and Zack Duan (74-76) are tied for 64th at 150 and Bhuvan Potluri is 91st at 156 (80-76).
The final 18 holes are scheduled for Tuesday.
