Washington State Leads After The First Day Of Anteater Invitational

Dove Canyon, Calif – The Washington State women's golf team leads the Anteater Invitational after the first day of competition at the Dove Canyon Country Club Monday.

The Cougars shot a two-round total of 596 (299-297) and hold a two shot lead over BYU (301-297-598) heading into the final round Tuesday. Cal State Fullerton is in third place (303-304-607), while host UC Irvine is fourth (310-300-610) and Idaho (312-299) and Long Beach State (303-308) are tied for fifth with a 36-hole score of 611. UC Riverside is seventh (614), San Francisco is eighth (627), Portland State and Montana are tied for ninth (629), while Sacramento State is 11th ( 630) followed by Santa Clara (641), Delaware (643), Cal State Northridge (652) and Boise State (667).

UC Riverside's Amelia Ek (73-72) and Washington State's Linsday Harmon (74-71) are tied at the top of the individual standings with a score of 145. Santa Clara's Balbina Guajardo is tied for third at 146 after posting the low round of the day with a 69 on the second round.

UC Irvine was led by Lalita Patipaksiri who is tied for sixth after carding a 147 (76-71).  Michelle Park is tied for 16th at 151 (75-76), while Ronnie Valerio (80-76) and Michelle Yang (79-77) are tied for 31st with a two round total of 156. Brenna Carlson is tied for 39th with a 158 ( 81-77) total.

Playing as individuals, UCI's Taryn Yee is tied for 21st at 153 (78-75), while Sara Banke is 51st (78-83-161) and Sarah Baek is 68th (82-86-168).

The final round begins tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
