RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. --- The UC Irvine men's golf team posted its best finish of the season with a third-place showing in The Farms Invitational that concluded Tuesday at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe.
San Diego State won the 14-team tournament with a 54-hole total of 862. Saint Mary's was second at 874 while UCI and Missouri tied for third place at 893.
J.J. Spaun of San Diego State was medalist with three-round score of 4-under par 212 after a 68 Tuesday.
Anteater redshirt freshman Pete Fernandez shot a 1-under 71 in the final round to place 10th at 220 for his second top-10 finish of the season.
Allan Jun, with a 74 Tuesday, finished 12th at 221 and Michael Yang, who also shot 74, was 19th at 223.
Mickey Chan (88) placed 50th at 239 and Bhuvan Potluri (78) was 71st at 249.
Coach Paul Smolinski's squad returns to competition Apr. 6-7 in the ASU Thunderbird Invitational at Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.
