Strong Showings for UCI Men's Team at Ben Brown Invitational

FULLERTON, Calif. --- Senior Jacob Yowell led the UC Irvine men on the track for the second straight week Saturday at the Ben Brown Invitational in Fullerton.

Yowell won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.12 seconds, improving his No. 5 mark in UCI history for the second consecutive meet.

He also ran a leg on UCI's 4x400 relay that placed second in 3:16.02.  Dominic Jester, Trevor Wightman and Cam Mitchell also ran legs on the relay.

Charles Jock and Riley Martin finished 3-4 in the 1500 meters with times of 3:49.66 and 3:52.16, respectively.  Mitchell placed ninth in 3:58.10.

Mason Miller recorded a third-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 51-0 and teammate Trevor Lawrence was eighth at 48-5 ¼.  Stephen Brown was third in the pole vault at 15-6 1/4.

Chris Carson finished fifth in the 100 meters (10.82) and sixth in the 200 meters (21.85).  Mike Kennedy was sixth in the 100 (10.93) and Alvin Cheng was sixth in the long jump at 22-3 ¾.  Alex Campbell also had a sixth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 6-2 1/4.
