'Eaters Finish Signings with Mandi McBroom

IRVINE, Calif. --- UCI's soccer team finishes out its signing class with defender Mandi McBroom (El Dorado Hills / Oak Ridge HS).

McBroom is primarily an outside back and has spent her club soccer with coach Zeca Neto with the San Juan Spirits.

"Mandi is a player that brings a fire to every game that she plays. We have built a program here at UC Irvine which has become known for our resilience, our will to win and a team personality that is ready to compete every time we play. Mandi personifies that spirit and we are very fortunate that she decided to join our program.  She can play in a number of position and might feature for us as an outside back or outside midfield player. Mandi has played at the highest levels of club soccer in the country with San Juan and the staff there have done a great job of building competitive teams.  We are hearing from a lot more Nor Cal players wanting to come to UC Irvine as our reputation grows and Mandi will represent that end of the state very well."

McBroom will join an 'Eater program that has won consecutive Big West regular season titles as well as consecutive at-large appearances in the NCAA Tournament which included a run to the Sweet Sixteen in 2010.
