Michelle Park Posts Second Consecutive Top 10 Finish At Rainbow Wahine Invitational

Wahiawa, O'ahu -- Michelle Park finished ninth individually to lead UC Irvine to fifth place at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational held at the Leilehua Golf Course.

Park paced the Anteaters after shooting a 54-hole score of 223 (73-73-77) to tie for ninth, her second consecutive top 10 finish, The senior also placed second at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational.

The Anteaters closed out the fall schedule with a fifth place showing. UCI recorded a three round total of 904 (305-297-302). Florida International won the title with a score of 895 followed by Toledo (897), Washington State (898) and Eastern Michigan (903) to round out the top five. FIU's Shelby Coyle won a playoff with Eastern Michigan's Sarah Johnson to claim the individual title. Both finished the tournament at 2-over par 218.

UCI's Michelle Yang carded a 226 (77-76-73) to place 13th, while Ronnie Valerio tied for 16th at 227 (78-74-75). Taryn Yee tied for 28th with a two day score of 230 (77-74-79) and Brenna Carlson was tied for 38th with a score of 233 (79-77-77.

This is the final tournament of the fall schedule. UCI will participate Long Beach State Gold Rush Feb. 10-12, 2013.
