SIMI VALLEY, Calif. --- The UC Irvine men's golf team is in fifth place following Monday's first round of the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley.
The second round was suspended due to darkness and will be completed Tuesday morning prior to the third and final round.
UCI shot a 4-over 292 in the first round and is 8-over in the second round that was suspended. San Diego, which shot 288 in the opening round, is first in the 20-team field.
The Anteaters' Travis Russell, who shot a 69 in the first round, is currently in third place at 3-under while Arizona State's Jon Rahm Rodriguez leads at 7-under.
UCI's Pete Fernandez had a 72 in the first round and is 23rd at 3-over, Allan Jun (75) and Michael Yang (76) are 40th at +6, and Ryan Knapp (80) is 102nd at +17.
