ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- Itos Aikhionbare and Amber Middleton had the top performances for the UC Irvine women's indoor track and field team at the New Mexico Invitational Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Aikhionbare, a freshman, finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 41-2 ¼ while Christa Kondru was 10th at 37-5.
Middleton, a senior, placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.73.
Lacey Surak was UCI's top finisher in the 400-meter dash with a 12th-place time of 59.83 and Sanmisola George placed 14th in the 60-meter dash (7.97).
Samia Sailinuu finished 15th in the one-mile run in 5:26.80 and Marie Brashears was 15th in the 800 meters (2:21.81).
The Anteaters' 4x400 relay of KayC Wharton, Sakia Sailinuu, Surak and Lauren Hackney placed fifth in 3:59.26.
