BURLINGTON, Iowa --- Sophomore Allan Jun was the top UC Irvine finisher in the Golfweek Conference Challenge that concluded Tuesday at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa.
Jun shot a 1-over 73 in the final round to finish 28th with a 54-hole score of 222.
Redshirt freshman Pete Fernandez, with a 76 Tuesday, placed 53rd at 229, junior Mickey Chan (77) was 61st at 232 and sophomore Zack Duan (84) finished 73rd at 242. Redshirt sophomore Ryan Knapp, who withdrew from Sunday's first round, shot a 77 on Tuesday.
Stephan Jaeger of Chattanooga was medalist at 209 after a 73 in the final round. Josh Eure from Arkansas finished second at 210 and New Mexico State's Justin Shin was third at 212.
Arkansas won the team title with a three-round total of 859. Chattanooga was second at 866 and Oklahoma State finished third at 867. UCI placed 15th at 915.
The 'Eaters return to action Oct. 17-18 in the Alister MacKenzie Invitational at The Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.
