Pullman, Wash. -- The UC Irvine women's golf team started the season in seventh place after 36 holes at the Cougar Cup at Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash.
The Anteaters shot a 627 (323-304) over two rounds Monday and are in seventh place. Washington leads the tournament with a score of 594 followed by Oregon State (609) in second, Stanford (610) in third, Idaho (615) in fourth and Washington State and Nevada tied for fifth (618).
Senior Lalita Patipaksiri leads UCI with a score of 153 (80-73) and is tied for 15th. Sophomore Ronnie Valerio is tied for 32nd with a total of 158 (82-76), while freshman Brenna Carlson is tied for 37th at 159 (79-80). Freshman Michelle Yang is tied for 43rd at 160 (85-75) and junior Sara Banke is tied for 69th with a score of 167 (82-85).
The tournament continues with 18 holes Tuesday.
