Freshman Sarah Baek Fires A 69 In Her Collegiate Debut And Leads Wolf Pack Classic

Dalton, Nev. -- UC Irvine freshman Sarah Baek shot a 69 in her collegiate debut and is tied for the lead at the Wolf Pack Classic held at the Dalton Valley Golf Club.

Today's second round of the tournament was canceled due to excessively windy conditions. The second and final round will start in a shotgun tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.

UC Irvine leads the 10-team Wolf Pack Classic after carding a 10-over 298 on Monday. The Anteaters hold a two-stroke lead over Wyoming (300), while San Francisco (301), Nevada (305) and Montana (306) round out the top five. Bowling Green (307), Sacramento State (308), Stetson (311), Utah Valley (321) and Old Dominion (322) complete the 10-team field.

Baek's 69 is tied for 11th in the UCI record books for best single round. Freshman Michelle Yang carded a 73, her lowest round of the year and is tied for fourth. Senior Lalita Patipaksiri, and sophomores Ronnie Valerio and Taryn Yee are tied for 20th with a one round total of 78.
