'Eaters Place 10th in Cabo

 

SAN JOSE del CABO, Mexico --- The UC Irvine men's golf team finished 10th in the Cabo Collegiate that concluded Saturday at Club Campestre Golf Course in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.

UCI had a three-round total of 904 as Arkansas won the tournament with a 54-hole score of 831.  Southeastern Louisiana was second at 857 and Saint Mary's third at 859.

Arkansas' Sebastian Cappelen (8-under 205) and Austin Cook (6-under 207) finished 1-2 individually.

UCI sophomore Allan Jun, with a 75 Saturday, finished 34th at 224.  Pete Fernandez and Ryan Knapp, who each also shot 75 in the final round, tied for 40th at 226.

Michael Yang shot a 1-under 70 and placed 47th at 228 while Bhuvan Potluri (79) was 62nd at 243.

This was the final tournament of the fall for the 'Eaters, who return to action Jan. 28-29 in the Arizona Intercollegiate at Arizona National Golf Club in Tucson.
