UC Irvine Falls to 11th Place at Cabo Collegiate

 

SAN JOSE del CABO, Mexico --- The UC Irvine men's golf team fell to 11th place in the Cabo Collegiate after Friday's second round at Club Campestre Golf Course in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.

Arkansas is the team leader with a 36-hole total of 557, Southeastern Louisiana is second at 575, and USF and Saint Mary's are tied for third at 581.  UCI has a two-round score of 609.

Sebastian Cappelen of Arkansas is the individual leader with a 6-under par 136 after a second straight round of 68 Friday.

UCI sophomore Allan Jun shot 75 in the second round and is in 29th place at 149 while Pete Fernandez also carded a 75 and is 39th at 151, along with Ryan Knapp, who shot 76.

Michael Yang, with an 82, is 58th at 158 and Bhuvan Potluri is 62nd at 164 after shooting 84.

The final round is scheduled for Saturday in the last tournament of the fall for the 'Eaters.
