Brenna Carlson Shoots A 69 To Lead UCI Into Tie For Second Place At Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

Boulder City, Nevada – UC Irvine freshman Brenna Carlson shot a career-best 69 to help the Anteaters into a tie for second place at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown held at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.

Carlson, who is playing in her second collegiate tournament, fired a career-best 69 on the second round and is currently tied for eighth place with a 36-hole score of 141 (72-69). Her 69 ties fellow freshman Sarah Baek as the best round of the season for the Anteaters and the 11th best round in UCI history.

UCI matched host UNLV with the low round of the day at 288 and moved into a tie with Pepperdine at 574 (286-288). UC Davis leads the field with a score of 567 (277-290) heading into the final round Wednesday.

UCI senior Lalita Patipaksiri is tied for 12th with a two-day score of 143 (72-71), while freshman Michelle Yang is tied for 15th with a total of 144 (73-71). Junior Michelle Park tied for 31st at 147 (70-77) and sophomore Ronnie Valerio is tied for 50th at 150 (72-78).

The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow.
