Boulder City, Nevada – The UC Irvine women's golf team shot a season-low 286 to start the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at the Boulder Creek Golf Club Monday.

The Anteaters shot a 286 on the opening round and are tied for fourth place. UC Davis leads the 16-team field with a score of 277. San Diego State is in second (280), while Pepperdine is in third (281). Idaho also shot a 286 and joins UCI at fourth.

Junior Michelle Park made her season debut and leads the squad after carding a two- under par 70 and is tied for 11^th place. Senior Lalita Patipaksiri, sophomore Ronnie Valerio and freshman Brenna Carlson are tied for 25^th at even par 72, while freshman Michelle Yang is tied for 41^st with an 18 hole total of 73.

The tournament continues with 18 holes Tuesday and 18 holes Wednesday.
