FAIRFAX, Calif. --- The UC Irvine men's golf team finished 15th in the Alister MacKenzie Invitational that concluded Tuesday at The Meadow Club in Fairfax.
California and Oregon tied for the team title with 54-hole scores of 811 while San Diego State was third at 819. The Anteaters finished with a three-round total of 867.
Oregon's Eugene Wong was medalist at 18-under 195 after a 67 in the final round. Max Homa of California finished five shots back.
UCI redshirt freshman Pete Fernandez shot a 75 Tuesday and placed 17th at 6-under 207.
Junior Michael Yang carded a 73 and finished 57th at 218 while redshirt sophomore Ryan Knapp shot even-par 71 to place 63rd at 220.
Junior Mickey Chan, with a 76 Tuesday, finished 70th at 222 and Zack Duan (85) was 80th at 234.
UCI closes out its fall schedule in the Cabo Intercollegiate Oct. 27-29 at Querencia Golf Club in Los Cabos.
