Final Men's Results
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- Freshman Matt Neev led five UC Irvine runners in the top 15 as the 'Eaters won the Cal State Northridge Invitational Saturday.
Neev finished eighth in 26:06.96 over 8,000 meters on the Matadors' campus course. Teammate Rex Nelson was right behind in ninth with a time of 25:09.06.
UCI's Steven Melena placed 11th in 25:14.72, Brett Matejka was 14th in 25:32.25 and Nick Osborne 15th with a time of 25:36.38.
Amir Shirif finished 17th in 25:46.14 and Ryan McMonigle was 19th in 25:50.10 to round out the 'Eaters' top seven.
UCI won the team title with 50 points, Houston was second with 52 and Cal State Fullerton third with 56.
Wesley Ruttoh of Houston was the individual winner in 24:38.18.
