UCI Alum Anna Vogtmann Competes in Tokyo Marathon

Anna Vogtmann represented UC Irvine as a supported athlete with Pocari Sweat at the 2026 Tokyo Marathon.

Vogtmann completed her first marathon in 3:08:40. Prior to the race, Pocari Sweat USA brought Vogtmann to the Otsuka headquarters in Tokushima where she had a chance to learn about the origin of the company. She also participated in the Pocari Sweat Caring Tour that included marathon advice and a post-race recovery day.

Vogtmann was a decorated member of the UC Irvine cross country/track & field team from 2021-25. In cross country, she was a two-time All-Big West performer. As a senior, Vogtmann was the runner-up at the conference meet where she broke her own 6K school record with a time of 19:49.3. 

On the track, the Folsom, California, native was a conference scorer all four years, including in 2025 when she finished seventh in her first career 10K to help the Anteaters win the program’s first Big West Women’s Track & Field Championship. She was also the 1500m runner-up as a freshman. Vogtmann ranks among UCI’s all-time top-10 in the 5K and 10K, as well as the indoor mile and 3K.
