IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine women’s basketball has signed three prep standouts - Ellery Burke-Brown, Alleah Hanson, and Delaney White - for the 2026-27 season.
Ellery Burke-Brown is a 5-foot-9 guard from Seattle, Washington. A four-year varsity letterwinner at Roosevelt High School, Burke-Brown earned first-team All-Metro League honors, and helped her team to the 3A State Tournament. As a junior, she averaged 15.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. Burke-Brown played club for Washington Premier.
“Ellery has the ability to be a true three-level scorer,” UCI head coach Tamara Inoue said. “From our very first phone call, I knew I wanted her in this program. Her mindset, competitive spirit, and genuine love for the game were immediately clear - she’s all about winning, and that’s exactly the kind of player we want here.”
Alleah Hanson is a 6-foot-2 post player from Brisbane, Australia. She was a member of the U20 Queensland team that advanced to the final of the 2025 Australian National Championship. In 2024, she won the U18 Queensland State Championship with the Logan Thunder, and won the Australian School Championship at Brisbane State High School. In addition, she has played for the North Gold Coast Seahawks (2024) and Brisbane Capitals (2025) in the NBL1. Hanson also has junior national team experience, taking home gold at the 2022 FIBA U15 Women’s Oceania Championship where she averaged 6.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Earlier this year, she was one of 24 players invited to training camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in preparation for the 2025 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup.
“I’ve known Alleah for years, and when I watched her in the U20s, I was immediately impressed by her ability to finish around the rim and knock down the three,” Inoue said. “Defensively, she has a real nose for the ball - exactly the kind of tenacity we value. On top of that, she brings a winning mentality, having been part of multiple championship teams in Australia. We’re excited to have her competitive edge and experience in our program.”
Delaney White is a 5-foot-7 point guard, who played the last three years at Oak Park High School. She will be at Sierra Canyon for her senior season. White led Oak Park to three-straight CIF-Southern Section and Coastal Canyon League titles. They won the CIF-SS 2AA championship in 2025, the 3AA championship in 2024, and the 5A championship in 2023. White earned CIF Player of the Year and league MVP honors all three seasons. As a junior, she averaged 16.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 3.5 steals per game. White also played club for Sports Academy Swish 17 EYBL.
“Delaney is the point guard I’ve been looking for - she pushes the pace, commands the floor, and instinctively sets up her teammates,” Inoue said. “Her ability to create her own shot and score adds all the intangibles you want in a successful point guard. I’m absolutely thrilled she chose to stay local and be part of our program.”
