UC Irvine Can't Contain Ducks

Box Score EUGENE, Oregon – UC Irvine could not contain a hot-hitting Oregon team as the 11th-ranked Ducks won in straight sets (25-13, 25-16, 25-13) at the Oregon Classic Friday.

Oregon hit .507 (39-3-71) for the match, while firing seven aces and out-blocking the Anteaters 9.0 to 3.0.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>Senior Loryn Carter paced UCI with eight kills
>Junior Cassie Stewart added seven kills , while senior Makayla Wolfe and sophomore Abby Marjama had four kills apiece
>Oregon was led by Willow Johnson with 12 kills, hitting .571. Ronika Stone hit .760 on 10 kills in 13 attempts and no errors

FIRST SET
>Oregon started quickly with a 5-0 lead and quickly made it 9-2
>The Ducks would score the final three points of the set to win, 25-13

SECOND SET
>A kill by Loryn Carter helped UCI close to 12-10, but Oregon out-scored UCI 8-2 to open a 20-12 advantage
