Jonathan Hammel scored the lone point sweeping Andrew Van Der Vyver, 6-2, 6-3.

UC Irvine (0-2) continues its trip Saturday with an 8:00 a.m. match against Arizona followed by a 3:00 p.m. matchup with No. 67 Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
