Jewett continued to shine on the track, beating his previous lifetime-best by 5.24 seconds to win the 800m. Jewett clocked in at a blistering 1:49.14, a time that ranks first in the NCAA and fifth in program history. The Inglewood, Calif., native is also fifth in the country in the 400m after running a personal-record 47.38 last weekend.
In his 110m hurdle season debut, current school record holder Lloyd Sicard finished ahead of the pack by over four tenths of a second as he won the event in a Big West-leading 14.11. Sicard's mark is also the fourth-best in the NCAA this season. Freshman Alan Tantiwassadakran added a sixth-place showing as he registered a season-best 15.45.
Sicard, Resong, Howard and Jewett eventually closed out the meet in the 4x400 relay where they took third in a season-best 3:11.75.
UC Irvine returns to action next weekend as it travels to Riverside for the UCR Spring Track Classic, March 24-25.
