EUGENE, Ore. --- UC Irvine junior Pete Fernandez shot a 76 in Friday's second round of the NCAA Regional at the Eugene (Ore.) Country Club.
He is in a nine-way tie for 37th place at 149 entering Saturday's final round on the par-70 course that measures 6,990 yards.
Stanford's Patrick Rodgers fired a 67 Friday and continues to be the individual leader at 133.
Chattanooga's Chris Robb, Oregon's Zach Foushee and Stanford's Cameron Wilson are tied for second place at 139.
Fernandez is scheduled to begin his final round Saturday off the 10th tee at 9:42 a.m., playing alongside Ben Krueger of Northern Colorado and Cody Blick from San Jose State.
Fernandez is one of 10 individuals, along with 13 teams, competing in the Eugene Regional.
The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from the regional following the conclusion of 54 holes will advance to the finals at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan., May 23-28.
