MESA, Ariz. --- U.S. Soccer announced the rosters for the upcoming men's national team training camp at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Ariz. with Gustavo Gonalez representing for the Anteaters.

Gonzalez excelled in his first collegiate season manning the Anteater backline starting 16 matches and playing in 17 for 1,378 minutes, fifth on the team and leading all freshmen. He was a key contributor in nine shutouts for the team as a defender, and added some offense with a pair of assists and even scored his first career goal - a game-winner to beat Yale. He won Big West Freshman of the Week for that, and continued that to a spot on the Big West All-Freshman Team.

U.S. Soccer announced the rosters for the U.S. U-18, U-19 and U-20 Men's National Team training camp to take place January 10-16 at Arizona Athletic Grounds. Held outside of a FIFA international window, the camp brings together 16 players each from the 2006, 2007 and 2008 birth year groups, allowing the Men's Youth National Team technical staff to give broader evaluation to each player pool, while also providing integrated positional training between each age group. Gonzalez is 1 of 14 different players representing NCAA Division 1 programs across the country, and just 1 of 4 on the U-19 squad training alongside players from all levels of Major League Soccer and the USL Championship and USL League One levels.

Head Coach Yossi Raz said of Gonzalez's inclusion, "I am very happy for Gustavo. I knew that UCI landed a very talented player after he had captained LA Galaxy Academy to success, but he has exceeded all my expectations. He is extremely mature, professional on and off the field, and quickly has become a leader in a very talented locker room; another illustration of the futbol qualities our community provides. I am confident that he will elevate the upcoming camp and certain that he wil have a nice future in the game."
